You are passionate about AI, development and love taking on challenges? You enjoy the digital world, the tech industry and a startup environment? Agentic automations are part of your daily focuses ? This opportunity is for you.
We created Chift two years ago and we want to be the European leader of financial software integrations by 2027 🚀 It’s an amazing opportunity to be part of the early builders of an ambitious and fast-growing start-up.
You will be working closely with one of the co-founder ****and your actions will have a direct impact on the company and the product used by our clients. Depending on your skills and the strategy, we will prioritize the many projects you will be working on.
As a AI Software Engineer at Chift, you will be at the heart of our mission to revolutionize software integrations for businesses across Europe. Your role is critical to building and improving the connectors and platform that empower our clients. You will lead AI-focused engineering projects end-to-end, working across multiple domains, from designing agentic workflows to building highly available APIs (or MCPs).
You’ll work closely with a talented, dynamic team, taking ownership of technical challenges and ensuring our solutions deliver value to our clients. This role is perfect for someone looking to deepen their backend expertise, take on responsibilities, and grow in a fast-paced startup environment.
You will have a key role in our company as you will be at the center of the design and delivery of AI projects across Chift's platform, from ideation to production. With a possibility to grow as a team lead
Here is an overview (not exhaustive) of your responsibilities:
You'll work across three fronts: the product, the integrations, and the engine that keeps Chift building faster than the market.
Build LLM-powered features inside the product Mapping suggestions, anomaly detection, intelligent monitoring, error recovery, smarter onboarding. You'll spot where AI genuinely improves the client experience and turn those into shipped features, not demos.
Implement the best architecture for highly available and scalable API/MCP
Make our integrations agentic The next generation of integrations isn't a deterministic sync. It's a flow that can reason, recover from errors, and reduce the manual mapping work our clients dread today. You'll lead that shift end-to-end, from architecture to production.
Automate how we build and maintain connectors We have 120+ connectors today and we want hundreds. You'll build the AI-powered tooling that lets a small team ship and maintain that scale: connector generation, automated testing against real APIs, documentation that stays in sync with the code.
Set the technical bar for AI at Chift Evals, prompt versioning, telemetry on agentic flows, safety and cost guardrails. You'll define the practices the rest of the engineering team follows when they put LLMs in production.
